I am looking for: Two different things:

+ Someone who can walk me through the various options available for taking fullscreen manual caps. I have a monitor that goes to a decent resolution and I'd like to know what program out there will be best for taking manual caps of the entire screen while I have the media maximized to full window. Basically, I'd like to talk to someone who has a good method of doing manual fullscreen capping and can answer my questions and give me firsthand opinions of the various methods out there. Via chat or e-mail both fine.

+ Someone who can, via chat, walk me through ripping a DVD and making my first clip from said ripped source. Obviously you could direct me to a tutorial and I'd go through it before we chatted and see if I could manage it on my own. But I do need some help figuring out what software is best to use for my purposes (ie, *which* tutorial to go to) and at the end of the day it's just nice to talk to someone who's got firsthand experience and can offer me a bit of insight into these processes.

I am looking for: A longish (5k+) crossover fic

Fandom: Star Trek/The Sentinel

Additional Info (optional): This is an idea that's been bouncing around my head for years, but I know I wouldn't be able to do it justice. The idea is that in the Star Trek universe Sentinels are known of but somewhat rare. There has never been a Vulcan Sentinel before (at least documented or since the teachings of Surak), but Spock gets stranded in the wilderness somewhere for a period of time and tada he's suddenly a Sentinel. Maybe it's because of his human blood or maybe something else (your choice). Bonus points if they can't figure out what the problem is at first. But I think it would be really interesting to see how Spock a Vulcan who highly values complete control of himself deals with loosing all that control. Of course Kirk would end up being his Guide and a romantic relationship ensues (but not without the prerequisite angst). :)

Donation Amount: I'll offer $35, though if you feel that you can do some huge, epic, multi-part fic, I'd be more than willing to negotiate.

Characters: Teyla Emmagen and Master Chief John "Jack" Urgayle (as played by Viggo Mortensen in the movie). Alternately: Faith Lehane/Jandar Sunstar

Additional information: I've always wanted to read a story in which the Master Chief was transferred to the Stargate Program, specifically the Atlantis Expedition, shortly after the events in the movie. I would specifically like to see him wind up working closely with Teyla. Story can be gen or het at the author's discretion, so long as the story does not contain any of the below.

Alternately, since there've been no bids on the above challenge, I would love to see someone take up my "Vampire of the Mists" (D&D Ravenloft books)/Buffy the Vampire Slayer crossover wherein Faith gets transported to Barovia during the Angel the Series episode "Sanctuary". Things I do not want: maiming, character death, non-con, dub-con, torture, D/s, any other extreme kinks.
